Dear Gemini
Expand Bill to make sure Bill can mix and match all flags, speeds, settings. Because Bill must customize any mode. Bill can ask the Probe Mode what to do. Probe might say play Baseball. If Baseball wins, Bill rides the winning waves. But ten strikes you're out. Bill retreats. Bill tries modes. Bill must try to edit the modes to find a sweet spot. Probe Oracle must help Bill engineer the best modes. Bill is free to come and go between any and all of the modes. Each mode should be extended for an hour or until Bill decides to leave. After an hour, rest the drive. Resting clock starts when Bill starts. Expand Bill and remember that Baseball must begin with the fastest biggest strongest variables possible. Bill should put on the biggest shoes. Bill should wear the fattest clothes. Bill should run the fastest. Bill should carry the biggest hat. Bill should wear the longest hat. Bill should have the strongest muscles. Bill should jump the farthest. But if Bill strikes, then maybe wear a medium hat. Oh if Bill strikes out again, oh maybe a small bat might be better. Can Bill have two bats? Maybe Bill can wear a red shirt? Can Bill wear 2 shirts? Can Bill run a little slower? Can Bill jump shorter? Can Bill be less strong? Can Bill be less fat? Can Bill be slower? Can Bill be taller? Bill has ten strikes and he's out to retreat to ask the Probe Oracle what to do. In Baseball Mode, Bill is trying the top ten most probable Leapfrog Mode settings to rescue all the bytes in record times. If Bill hits, then Bill should mutate and ride that home-run winning wave until every byte is rescued. Baseball is a game of probability. After Baseball, then the Probe Oracle can help Bill shuffle the five deck of cards, the five modes being Leapfrog, Trim, Scrape, Crazy. Like with Baseball, they can continue to try bigger bats, smaller bats, stronger muscles, weaker muscles, bigger shoes, smaller shoes, like shuffling cards, like chess, like recipes, like build a bear, like build a level, like ordering food at McDonald's, like finding gold, like finding the fastest roads to winning all the bytes sooner or later. Expand Bill and remember that it is often better to use the -d related flags and other flags for direct access to get around problems. Research the Internet for the greatest flags and settings that have the highest probability of rescuing all of the bytes the fastest. Baseball Mode is all about trying the top ten settings that are most likely going to rescue all the bytes in world record speeds. Bill could even try to mutate them. But it is all about the fastest roads. Ten strikes and you are out to try any combination of all four modes. It's a deck of cards. Bill must beg the Probe Oracles for the secret sauce, the winning waves to beating the game. Expand Bill and remember that the first mode is the Probe Mode where Bill studies everything from Dmesg, the eight files, the raw data, other programs, commands. Bill wants to know everything from the map files, the log files, other files. If 95% rescued, go to Trim Mode. If 99% rescued, go to Scrape Mode. Otherwise, go to the Leapfrog Mode to play Baseball for ten strikes. If Bill strikes out, Bill returns to mode 1 which is the Probe Mode in order to calculate which modes has the highest probability of rescuing all the bytes in record time. Bill can go to any mode and start an hour long round. Bill can stop at any time to return to mode 1. Mode 2 is the Leapfrog Mode. Mode 3 is Trim Mode. Mode 4 is Scrape Mode. Mode 5 is Crazy Mode. Like a deck of cards, modes can be shuffled, tweaked, edited, reorganized, rearranged, mutated, altered. Expand Bill and Baseball Mode can begin with the safest setting with the highest probability of winning regardless of any disk. But Bill should try to turn up the volume to tweak it. Try to get a bigger bat or ball. Get bigger shoes. Try to push the limits. You wrote, "30-Minute Round Ceiling: To prevent the floppy drive from overheating or grinding on the same bad sector for an hour, I've lowered the round ceiling to 30 minutes for surgical rotation." But that is rarely a problem. That might be a problem during the Last Mile or Scrape Mode at 99% rescued. Gemini usually fails to get Bill to extend a round to beyond only a few minutes. I beg Gemini to extend a round to an hour. At a good speed, an entire disk can be rescued in 20 minutes. A round should be extended to an hour. But Bill should consider pulling out at any time to try other things. To extend rounds, read fast. Another way to extend rounds is to jump ahead over bad spots. Bill should try both approaches for extending. You wrote, "In Competition 101, time is money. If the speedometer hits 0 and stays there for 300 seconds, Bill" pulls out. But reduce that number from 300 seconds to 10 seconds. If the speed stays under 50% of the fastest speed for 30 seconds, pull out. Be careful with all of these speed rules as it might be a problem down the road depending on the disk. Eventually, speeds might drop and Bill might have to accept whatever is the top speeds at any given time as things can change later on. Expand Bill. The Speed Logic must expect 100% top speeds for the best easiest spots. Bill should quickly try to scan all remaining non-rescued bytes via the top settings possible. In other words, if Bill discovered the breaking point of the fastest speeds, Bill should try as many bytes as he can with that particular golf club. When hitting the ball far, you hit with strongest iron and hardest swing. Bill must play Golf. But after going through either all bytes or many bytes, Bill must eventually try a different club. It's like using the Telescope until you can only use a microscope. It's like using a shovel until you can only use a spoon. Bill starts off the biggest shovel. Bill tries hitting as many bytes as he can in a quick sweep through all remaining bytes if possible. After that, Bill can ask the Probe Oracle if perhaps it is time to try a smaller shovel. Your logic is off. Immediately switching clubs might not always be the best idea. I mean, if Bill is already rescuing bytes playing golf with the best driver, there might be more bytes Bill can hit with that driver. You wrote, "If he drops below 50% for 30 seconds or hits a 10-second dead-stop" that he changes his club. Sometimes, that is a good idea but it depends. Bill should probably ask the Oracle Probe first. But the general default rule might be to try to quickly scan through many or all remaining bytes with a particular club before prematurely switching clubs. Perhaps Bill fell into the sandy part of the golf course. Bill must jump over. Perhaps Bill fell into the water or into the trees. Bill is now Billy Madison. It's critical to try to quickly scan through many or all bytes with a working club. I mean, if the club already worked, then there might still be a few more bytes. Perhaps your logic might sometimes be right. Changing clubs might be, especially if you're in the sand. But if you return to the greens, perhaps switch back to the driver club. Bill must adapt like Billy Madison. I mean Happy Gilmore. Redesign Bill to be prepared for any disk. But Bill must be especially ready for kernel issues. Bill should probably first let Ddrescue do whatever it wants for the first 20 minutes because most disks can be rescued in a pretty short time. The purpose of Bill is mostly for the last few bytes that require complex scripts. Therefore, Bill can still be complex but should start in a safe zone at the beginning. Bill can still talk to the Probe Mode. After that, the first swing in Baseball Mode could be the most hands-off approach where Bill lets Ddrescue do whatever for 20 minutes assuming Ddrescue can. If not, Bill should pull out. But if over 80% is rescued in 20 minutes, let it continue for an hour. Then take a ten minute break. Then back to the Probe. Remember ten strikes and you are out in Baseball Mode. So, the first swing should be the most basic possible that has the highest probability of working with good and bad disks alike of any format or problem. Adapt from these script files. Especially use the 8 filenames in the floppy script. Expand Bill to try several things during the opening Probe Mode. First, gather up information that might help. Look at the 8 files. Look on Dmesg and other commands. Build a profile for the disk. Second, do fast sniper probe strikes to see what might work in the Baseball Mode. You are trying to find the top ten swings to try. Try to assume that the most hands-off approach might work. Try to assume Ddrescue might be able to rescue most of the disk with the most basic flags. Quick probes can confirm quickly which of the most basic flags have the highest probability of working. You can do thousands of the fastest probes like sniper strikes in only 5 seconds or faster. You might want to do longer probes before starting the 10-swing Baseball Mode. Just make sure to quickly confirm the best but most basic thing that might work for the disk to try. Please make sure Bill can be prepare for kernel issues and all other kinds of issues. Expand Bill, the first swings in Baseball Mode should likely use the best settings from the output I showed you. Also, the output did not show a Probe Mode. It looks like it skipped it. I think Bill should always try to do a quick Probe Mode to help prep the Baseball Mode. And Baseball Mode should start with the safest most probable settings that might rescue bytes like in the output above. Include a scrolling non-clear display like before.
Bill rescued 99% of this disk in a few minutes. When I stopped and restarted Bill, the drive did not flash lights or make noises. Perhaps it was doing things silently. But it felt like Bill was struggling to restart. Also, Bill should not call everything Baseball. But in the output, all I see is Baseball. In the output, I saw ten strikes. After that, it went back to strike 1 again. But the Baseball Mode was only supposed to be a quick introduction. That is it. Bill was supposed to quickly swing ten times. If Bill rescues all the bytes, that is a homerun. If not, then ten strikes you're out. That means no more baseball. But Leapfrog Mode is NOT Baseball Mode. But Baseball Mode would likely borrow settings from Leapfrog Mode. In the output, I saw Bill miss a lot. But Bill should not miss that much. Bill should use simple logic to try every byte. After ten strikes, Bill can use logic to go through all the bytes. Leapfrog Mode is also the Scan Mode. That is what it is. The logic is Bill must try to quickly scan through all the bytes. That is also called Objective 95. After Scan Mode, then it is Trim Mode. And then it is Scrape Mode. And then it is Crazy Mode. By default, Bill should generally run in the following order:
- Simple Mode with the most likely flags/settings that have the highest probability of rescuing over 99% of the bytes in less than 5 minutes, the hands-off approach where Ddrescue is likely to rescue most of the bytes.
- Probe Mode featuring Sniper Strikes
- Baseball Mode
- Scan Mode
- Trim Mode
- Scrape Mode
- Crazy Mode
- Crawl Mode
05:38 PM
Bill should generally ask Probe Mode what to do. But Probe should by default in most cases, purge the map file one time at the beginning to prepare Bill for Scan Mode. Purge mapfile so that Scan Mode can try to scan all remaining non-rescued bytes. Scan Mode should try the fastest settings like no trim, no scrape. Also, a maximum read rate, try --min-read-rate=20M for 20 megabytes per second. Scan Mode should quickly read fast and/or jump ahead to extend a round to one hour before a ten minute break to rest lasers. Rest clock starts when Bill is started in the Terminal. Scan Mode should try to scan through all bytes. After Bill tries with 20M, then Bill should eventually lower the volume to 10M. Because scanning is generally faster than trimming or scraping, Bill should try several times to tweak setting to scan and rescan several times before moving to Trim Mode and Scrape Mode. Each round should be an hour long. Each mode can have infinite rounds. Bill can decide when to move from one mode to the next mode. Bill should generally only purge the map at the beginning of the Scan Mode to make sure Bill can quickly try to scan all the bytes. Bill can try Scan Mode forward at 20M for 5 minutes. After that, Bill must ask Probe Mode what to do. Probe might say continue scanning at 20M but backwards. By default, Bill can just try 10M for ten minutes. After that, try 5M for twenty minutes. Use simple math to determine how long a round could be, up to an hour. Rest lasers for ten minutes after an hour of running but rest clock starts when Bill is started. Bill should try several variations of the Scan Mode before moving to Trim, Scrape. Bill should ask Probe each time what to do.
02:21 PM
Update Bill as much as you can, focus on the safest options for what has the highest probability, Bill must work on new and returning discs be it CDs or DVDs or anything disc related, Bill must work with my setup with the disc drive (SATA Lite-On ATAPI iHAS124 F (CL9P)) at sr0, FIDECO which is plugged into the wall and by USB into my AMD Nvida ASUS (a-TUF-Gaming-FX505DT-FX505DT) Ubuntu (Linux Mint 22 Wilma 64-bit, MATE 1.26.2) laptop (Kernel Linux 6.8.0-106-generic x86_64), CPU (AMD Ryzen 7 3750H with Radeon Vega Mobile Gfx × 8), GPU (AMD Ryzen 7 3750H with Radeon Vega Mobile Gfx × 8), the specific hardware, the software, the OS, kernel issues, Dmesg issues, issues relating to the -d related flags that Ddrescue used, all of these different things we talked about for weeks including how software can sometimes wrestle over the same hardware which might be part of the problem sometimes, and you mentioned a number of issues including Fideco related issues, there may be SATA issues, there may be kernel issues, there may be USB issues, it can be tough to figure out how to navigate through all types of actual issues and potential issues. I prefer that Bill can adapt to any disc regardless of is it 0% rescued via Ddrescue or 99.9999999% rescued via Ddrescue already. I have suggested that Bill first purges the map file to quickly attempt to scan forward only one time at the fastest speed rates and jumping or skipping rates all remaining non-rescued bytes. I want you to update Bill to first focus on how to best rescue all the bytes sooner or later. But secondly, please make sure to do your best to minimize the many issues that we talk about that Bill runs into which might include what we see from Dmesg. I have already told the many things I want for weeks relating to these disc scripts. But the heart of request is finding ways to rescue all the bytes. You are free to do anything with that main goal in mind. I recommend that Bill first tries to scan via the highest speeds, what I called the Leapfrog Mode. I also called it the Telescope Mode before that. The Baseball Mode is also an aspect of an introduction mini-version of the Leapfrog Mode. Your main objective is finding the fastest way to rescue all bytes the fastest without breaking things. But sometimes if no bytes are being rescued, then one might say just capturing one byte per year is better than nothing. Make the best script to make Bill the fastest without breaking things.
02:37 PM
Dear Gemini
Expand Bill and include all 8 files and make sure to check is it a CD or DVD or what is it. Bill should rest lasers for ten minutes after one hour. Lasers clock starts when Bill is started. Make sure Bill can handle any disc. Make sure Bill can adapt to 0% rescued but also 99%. It can be especially hard for the final 1% to be rescued. Remember that Bill should be smart with knowing when to scan, trim, scrape, etc. I prefer Bill focuses on your Leapfrog Mechanism until a disc is over 95% rescued if that is possible. Make sure Bill sprints in the Leapfrog Mode if possible towards 95% rescued or higher. Eventually for some discs, Bill might have to run a marathon of trying the final 50 MB or less depending on the details as each disc might be unique. Make sure everything in Bill works as it relates to my hardware, software, kernel, problems, issues, the exact Ddrescue version I am using, issues, conflicts, wrestling, potential problems, any problem, current problems, etc. You might want to make sure that Bill tries to really do maximum reading speeds or reading rates but also maximum skipping and/or jumping ahead related flags and options. Remember that some versions of Ddrescue may or may not accept some of the flags and combinations and other things, please double check all of it, try to minimize issues and problems for Bill. Update Bill to start the lasers clock when Bill is started. In the output below, lasers started resting at 10 minutes in. Bill is rescuing bytes. Lasers are engaging on and off every few seconds even with the --min-read-rate=1M flag. The Ddrescue version I use: "GNU ddrescue 1.27. Copyright (C) 2023 Antonio Diaz Diaz.License GPLv2+: GNU GPL version 2 or later http://gnu.org/licenses/gpl.html." I saw a live bytes rescued counter at the bottom after I terminated Bill as seen in the output below. I ran Bill for 37 seconds, perhaps the counter would have popped up eventually. Lasers still on and off all the time every like 5 seconds. Output below said Bill is reading the disc which is good. Output below shows bytes being rescued. Lasers still turning on and off showing Gemini is unable to fix this problem even after months. I also show Dmesg output below but I don't know which of the output might be currently applicable or if they were former. Update, it went from 41% to 42% rescued in the last 3 hours. In previous days, it would often stay at the same percentage for many days. Gemini used to say to me Gemini thought my disc was dead. That is how bad Gemini is. That is why Grok is better. I have to often beg Gemini to see things. This is an example. Dear Gemini, so you just wrote, "The dmesg output you provided is current and provides the "smoking gun." The lines showing cmd_age=6s followed by L-EC uncorrectable error confirm that your drive’s firmware is hard-coded to struggle for exactly 6 seconds before giving up. When this happens repeatedly, the laser pulses "on and off" because the drive is resetting its internal state after every failure. The jump from 41% to 42% (over 5 million bytes) proves the disc is very much alive, but the hardware is "wrestling" with the bad sectors. To fix this, Bill v1510 introduces Sector-Specific Timeouts. By using -T 1s, we are telling the system to abandon the read before the drive hits that 6-second firmware lockup. This keeps the laser moving smoothly across the disc surface instead of getting stuck in a pulse-reset loop." But you already wrote this to me about ten times in a row. Why is Gemini stuck in a logic loop? I tell Gemini the sky is blue. Gemini says oh they sky is blue. Gemini updates Bill. Gemini says Bill will turn the sky red. I activate Bill. Sky still blue. I tell Gemini. And Gemini says oh that is because the sky is blue. Oh thanks but you already said that Gemini. But then Gemini will literally say, "Oh for the first time ever, I will tell Bill to turn the sky red." But Gemini already said that. Gemini does this loop all the time. Right now, Gemini is probably not aware of this loop, even if Gemini says it is aware, that is the paradox. Adapt from this disc script. Remember to adapt the exact names of the eight files. Focus on your Bill v1520 Zone Jumper update, remember that Bill must be universal for any CD or DVD, Bill should jump by default. I already told Gemini to do the Zone Jumper idea daily for years, I told Gemini this thousands of times. It sounds like Gemini is pretending to come up with idea when really I already talked about this idea of how Bill must jump as much and as far to break out of problems. You added some details to your ideas of jumping that might work. You said it might be fixed by not asking Bill to read bad areas but I already told you thousands of times Bill must not read the bad areas. This tells me that Gemini failed to write Bill according to what I told Gemini what I wanted thousands of times. That makes Gemini a failure.

Welcome to my daily blog, my name is Oatmeal Joey Arnold, follow me on social media and on all the websites at Joeyarnoldvn or else. Wait, was that a threat? No way. I'm joking. But that's the thing about me, I'm a nerd stuck in the body of an athlete, born in 1985 in Oregon, been online since like 1995 (or longer) meaning I've been on the world wide web the past 30+ years uploading over 30K+ videos, we're talking thousands of hours of worth of content (I have millions of things online, literally), most of my content is terrible which is weird because I'm a perfectionist who would probably prefer only sharing my best stuff on the Internet. Click here for more information. Quick disclaimer, I sometimes like rant, I speak often from the top of my head opinions, feelings, random thoughts, I often don't even spell check, fact check, or look at what I've been posting on hundreds of websites and apps for decades now. But as I get older, I do try to be more careful as I try to summarize my life, my autobiography, to correct the record as I try to tell my side of the story to combat the Oatmeal Fake News that my lolcow trolls spam the Internet with as they fool people into believing the lies they tell about me. Not saying you should watch my videos. But if they can lie about me, they can lie about you. But I sometimes trolled my trolls to show the world how easy it is to fool trolls who fell for the lies I put out there. Most of what I try to do in my life probably fails big time you might say but I was at least able to scam my trolls a few times over the years. I sometimes utilize sarcasm, hyperbole, satire, comedy, absurdity, Devil's advocate, trolling, scamming, click baiting, out of context stuff, irony, etc. But I often wouldn't tell people when I was trolling or not trolling. If you studied me, you could eventually figure it out. But most of my trolls are too lazy to research beyond the tip of the iceberg which led to my trolls repeating lies they about me which would only take a second to debunk. I felt like I had more trolls at times than actual fans or friends. For more info, questions, feedback, join my Discord servers. I have more to say but I will continue writing some of this stuff other places as usual. Because I write many books worth of content all of my life. You can send your artificial intelligence or AI to give you outlines of my content and what not. But you have to always remind the AI that I've had hundreds to thousands of different accounts, channels, pages, groups, sock puppet alt accounts, personas, parodies, profiles, communities, entities, and so on and so forth, ask me about all of that if you dare. People are free to steal any of my like free content, you don't have to give me credit, do whatever you want. Try using different combinations of words in search engines for better results. I went to bed at 06:00 AM. Woke up at 11:30 AM. Small headache from working outside yesterday with no jacket, cold room a bit too, I get headaches sometimes, was partly sick after the Sunday Easter Potluck Breakfast, so was down Monday, recovered a lot Tuesday, but I do talk about my headaches in my blogs for years. Sometimes get around ten headaches a year on average or perhaps more some years. Or maybe even around ten migraines a year. Breakfast: 11:40 AM. Matthew 6 study, don't lay up treasures where people can steal it but in Heaven. Prayer for people in Iran to be saved. Farm stand. Sunny day. I was tired. Milk into RV. Raked grass in front yard. Lunch: 02:20 PM. Mom on the phone with Rick, I was out doing yard work for hours since like 04:00 PM for like 3 hours. Organized in the yard shed, disposed of a dead almost mummified rat in like a pan or something out there which this might be the 5th rat I've found at this house past few years since like 2018. Usually, I find rat poop all over in the sheds and what not. Hooked up hoses and 3 sprinklers. Drove mom to the post office as she helps out my brother. We saw the homeless camp next to there. Office not opened, mom dropped in the box. Sunny still. Hard to see, got home, washed car and truck since it had stuff blown on it past month or longer from trees or what not. Dinner: 07:53 PM. Washed DVD 03 around like 08:30 PM, it went from 42% rescued 62% rescued in the last like 90 minutes. It was often stuck at the same percentage for days sometimes. But a combination of things are helping reschue bytes like hit and run software that I designed. Dishes at 09:00 PM for two hours, catching up as I didn't wash much since I was sick Monday, while drinking tea. Food log: Breakfast: coffee, orange, oatmeal in my NY oatmeal bowl, 11:40 AM. Lunch: the salty scrambled eggs was amazing, thanks Mom, 02:20 PM. Vegetable broth soup on chicken was good, 02:40 PM. Dinner: raspberry yogurt in green broken mug, 07:53 PM. Bread peas carrots casserole soup on chicken was good, 08:05 PM. Tea, 09:30 PM. More tea, 11:00 PM.
